The presence of oxygen & moisture in the atmosphere accelerates the corrosion of ferrous & non-ferrous metals. This reaction requires an acidic pH. It is an electrochemical phenomenon occurring on untreated metal surfaces in contact with electrolytes like water. Treating the metal surfaces to break the reaction of surface acids is the key to protect them from Surface Corrosion.

TapStar® VCI Masterbatch is a unique, eco-friendly, non-hazardous, Corrosion Inhibitor masterbatch as an additive to prevent surface corrosion of metal components packed in films. The active ingredient in these masterbatches vaporizes at ambient temperature. VCI 2075 active after vaporizing, gets adsorbed on the surface exposing the hydrocarbon layer to the atmosphere hence preventing corrosion of the metal component. The active in VCI 8075 on the other hand, neutralizes the acids present on the surface of the metal component responsible for corrosion
